You know what day it is. Come on….you know! Mike, don’t be shy….Carol, I know you can hear me! That’s right, it’s Hump Day! That really doesn’t have anything to do with this post except for the fact that it is, indeed, hump day.
This morning was rough. Not going to lie. I slept like crap and the traffic didn’t do me any favors. Not to mention, it’s swamped here at my place of business. So I’m taking a quick 15 minute break to tell you about the awesome breakfast sandwich I had this morning.
Now, I know it isn’t a burger, but it did come between two buns. English muffins, when split in two, can be considered a bun, right? If not, they can be now.
I went down to the little café we have here at work and decided to ask for something a little out of the norm. I requested an english muffin sandwich with fried egg, cheese and bacon. What? That doesn’t seem strange to you? Well, what if I told you I told him to put some peanut butter on there?
That is exactly what I did.
Alright, so I know it’s not that crazy. Hell, I’ve had burgers with peanut butter on them. I’ve even had a little of the peanut butter from my toast mix in with the yolk of my eggs. But I’ve never actually, on purpose, put this combo together. I’m glad I did.
The taste is rich, smooth, creamy, crunchy, warm and gooey. Something about the melted peanut butter really just took what would have been an average breakfast sandwich, to the next level.
I do have to say, the chef, if you can call him that, does know his way around a fried egg (not as easy as it sounds). Not to mention, the bacon he prepares is always on point. Would this be the same if I did it at home, not sure; but it’s worth a shot.
Maybe next time I’ll have him put peanut butter AND jelly on it. That could be a beautiful disaster.
