Best Burger In Carver County?

So this weekend I got asked if I wanted to go to Victoria, MN. Now, I’ve made the trip up highway 7 a few times before and have had some good times. This time, however, we were starting out with dinner before drinking.
Seeing as I now have a very popular blog that focuses on things between two buns; no not (insert porn site name here), I suggested we find a burger place. Being that Victoria, MN isn’t the biggest town around, I knew my options would be limited.
My friend said, “Let’s go to Vic’s. They have the best burger in all of Carver County.” Again, not a huge county, so that statement was taken with a huge chunk of sea salt.
This unassuming bar/grill was located about 3 minutes from her house, so the convenience factor was already off the charts. Not to mention, when we walked in, we were greeted right away by an eager waiter looking to take our drink order. I had a (three) Nordeast on tap.
The menu is perfectly small consisting of only two sides. None of this 30 page Cheesecake Factory crap.
Once I got to the burger section I told myself right away that I was going with my first instinct. That instinct happened to be the “Blue Cheddar Bacon Burger”. That’s right, cheddar AND blue cheese on the same burger. How have I never had this before?
The result was average. While the burger itself was extremely tasty and the cheese melted to perfection; the bacon didn’t do it for me. For me, if you are going to have bacon on a burger, make it extremely crunchy. To me there is nothing worse than stringy bacon.
Had I’d ordered this burger without the bacon I think it could have been the #1 one burger I’ve reviewed thus far. But, I am ordering off the menu for this blog, no substitutions.
With that being said, I think Vic’s might have the best burger in Carver County; even if it is due to having no competition.
Ranking - 1 ½ out of 4 napkins (3 out of 4 without bacon)

  1. Saw the picture, instantly was reminded of how horrible stringy bacon is. Especially in a sandwich of any kind when you take a bite and the entire piece come sliding out, surely to drip ketchup/mustard/mayo all over your freshly pressed shirt.

I say Vic's, take note of this review and ensure your cooks actually cook the bacon, or suffer the consequence.

    1. Thanks for the comment. Couldn't agree more. I want the bacon to be on the whole burger, not, as you said, come sliding out with one bite.
